Updated .brd file for Stratix 10 GX dev kit
I don't know who on the planet in 2026 just happens to have a 2017 version of Allegro laying around for a new install. I even went so far as to jump through the hoops to get the demo version of Allegro, and it only lets you go back to 2023 when you download. That's not really a viable solution. altera updtaing the documentation is the only real solution I see. I don't see anyone from altera chiming in.
I understand, and your feedback is noted. I am still working with the internal team to address these concerns.
I am not sure if this helps you, but you can view the released layout from files that are already in the Stratix 10 GX Signal Integrity Development Kit (H-Tile) installer, which Allegro is not required.
In stratix10GX_1sg280uf50_si_revd_htile_v18.1b222_v1.0.zip, open:
board_design_files/stratix10GX_1sg280uf50/pcb/S10GX_SI_D_Gerber.zip
- Unzip that file and open the .art and .drl files in a free Gerber viewer, such as gerbv or the KiCad Gerber viewer.
For the schematic and the parts list, use these files from the same stratix10GX_1sg280uf50 folder:
- schematic/s10gx_si_d.pdf
- bom/S10GX_SI_RevD_BOM.xlsx
- schematic/S10GX_SI_D.DSN is an OrCAD Capture source. If you do not have OrCAD, use the PDF.
These files may help you inspect the board that shipped. I understand that they are artwork and documents, so they still do not take the place of an editable .brd, and they cannot be imported back into Allegro as the board database.
I have asked the internal team to re-save S10GX_SI_D.brd in a current Allegro release and republish it, so the Free Viewer can open it. I will update this thread when I have an answer.
