Dear Intel, I understand there is some locked vs floating license problem for Quartus. Unfortunately I am unable to resolve it on my own. Kindly set a zoom meeting or any remote access link in order to fix my problem. Thank you Regards, Monsoon_sunSolved14KViews0likes12CommentsIntel Starter Edition 2021.2 requires License?
Hello, I recently installed Questa Intel FPGA Starter Edition 2021.2 for linux from the download section. This is the selection from the installer where I specifically selected "Intel FPGA Starter Edition": However, when I try to run vsim it still tries to check out a license file and refuses to start... Unable to checkout a license. Make sure your license file environment variable (e.g., LM_LICENSE_FILE) is set correctly and then run 'lmutil lmdiag' to diagnose the problem. Unable to checkout a license. Vsim is closing. ** Error: Invalid license environment. Application closing. As far as I understand from the FAQ, the the Starter Edition should not require a license: Whould appreciate your help. Thanks.Solved13KViews0likes10CommentsWhich Verilog Simulator to Install
I'm new to FPGAs and Verilog simulation tools. I'm building a simple processor for fun and would like to know which Verilog simulation would be best for me to install. I would like that there be no code size limit. I'm willing to pay for it, but not thousands of dollars. BTW, I'm a college student if that helps.Solved13KViews0likes4CommentsFailed to launch NIOSV Command Shell. Getting (0xc0000142) application error.
Hello, I'm having trouble with the Nios V Command Shell; specifically, I cannot start the shell (niosv-shell.exe) or the RiscFree IDE. Sometimes the program starts, and sometimes it does not. Operating system: Windows 10 19045.5737 version 22H2. Tool: Quartus Prime Pro 23.4 I'm getting an application error 0xc0000142: I've already reinstalled the Quartus tool a few times. Also followed the steps from the link below. https://thegeekpage.com/how-to-solve-application-error-0xc0000142-in-windows-10/ still getting the same issue.11KViews0likes45CommentsCannot generate a License on the self licensing tool
Several weeks ago, I downloaded Quartus Lite to program my MAX10. While I can now code a system configuration in VHDL and program it into the MAX10 FPGA, I cannot simulate my designs. Quartus Lite comes with the Questa FSE simulator, but I cannot use it. I know I need a license, but I cannot generate it from the Self Licensing tool (SSCL). I registered at the tool and can now login (although I never gotten the confirmation email). However, when clicking on "Sign up for Evaluation or Free Licenses", it just shows "No products available to sign up". Moreover, I cannot use the "License assistant" since this just opens up a blank window. I've tried this on different browsers on different OS, and I have this problem everywhere. (as shown in the attached screenshot) It's really frustrating, as my current design does not work and I have no means to simulate it to figure out where it is going wrong! Can anyone provide pointers on how to solve this problem.? PS: I asked this at general support, but they just said "ask the forum", so here I am.10KViews0likes26CommentsCan't launch Questa Intel FPGA Simulation software...
make sure the software is properly installed and the environment variable LM_LICENSE_FILE or MGLS_LICENSE_FILE points to the correct license file. The env variable is set correctly. Path is set. Have licensing for either QuestaSim or Starter edition. Error happens with either installed. Previously worked when ModelSim licensing was not expired and utilized, so I know the server with the license file is set (firewall-wise). Also tried editing .tcl mentioned in other posts to remove double-quotes or to add additional at end of line 122 without either affecting outcome. Completely lost as to getting this work. Hi, I'm looking for a windows verilog simulator for learning purpose that is free of a license. This ModelSim edition [https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/software-kit/750368/modelsim-intel-fpgas-standard-edition-software-version-18-1.html] was found by google and it seems that no license is required to start the simulation. So to confirm, could anyone let me know if it does or does not require a license? Thank you!Solved7.1KViews0likes5Comments
