[Agilex]: Programming & Flashing FPGA File (.jic) to QSPI Flash from HPS through ethernet

Hi all,

I have been using the below mentioned guide for porting u-boot and linux on agilex board

Building Bootloader for Agilex 7 | Documentation | RocketBoards.org

But, there is no information about how to program (or) flash the fpga file from HPS through ethernet?

Provide me any inputs on this ?

Thanks & Regards
Raju S

      Hi @JingyangTeh_Altera ,

      Thanks for the response.

We have already gone through the link, but there is no information (or) steps for flashing the (.jic) file through HPS ethernet?

      Thanks & Regards

    Hello,

.jic (JTAG indirect programming file) is intended for programming through JTAG only. Programming through HPS should use flash image file (e.g. .rpd) and ASMI parallel II or generic flash interface IP in FPGA.

      Hi @FvM ,

      Thanks for the response.

We are using (.sof) file and (u-boot-spl-dtb.hex) file to generate (.jic) file.

Please provide us the steps to generate (.rpd) file for Agilex EMMC Booting.

      Thanks & Regards

    Hi Raju

Sorry that I did not catch your intention the first time.

We do not support flashing the other than using the JTAG or USB Blaster.

Do you mind giving more details on your use case of flashing through ethernet? Are you referring to a device upgrade on the field device?

For your question regarding file conversion, you could use the "Programming File Generator" tool under the "File>>Programming File Generator".

    Hi Raju

Did you gone through the link I sent you?

With RSU, you could send the bitstream through the ethernet and with the RSU application on the board you could do the FPGA Programming.
