Can DNI still be disabled?

Starting with Quartus Pro version 23.3, it appears that DNI is now enabled by default. The --dni command line option appears to have no effect either way, and DNI is enabled regardless.

Is there still an option to disable DNI in Quartus Pro 23.3 and up? And if so, how?

Thanks,

-Roee

Might take sometimes for update as it is holiday season.

May I know how urgent this is?

    Hi Roee,

I totally get it. Currently most of the team are on holiday thus expected slow in response. Perhaps you can come back in 1/2 week later? Is that okay?

I am following this case closely and will you know any update.

Does this issue total roadblock your development?

Possible to work on prior version for now?

      Hi @SyafieqS .

Thanks for the update, I understand.

This is not currently blocking development. I am proceeding using an earlier version for now. But at some point this will gate customer releases of my IP if it can't support newer versions of Quartus.

So yes, a couple of weeks is okay, but hopefully not much longer than that.

Also, I'm hoping that Intel can get the above mentioned bug fixed in Quartus in time for the fix to make it into version 24.1. Can you share the timeline for that?

      Thanks,

      -Roee

    Hi Roee,

I believe this initial issue to disable DNI might be related to https://community.intel.com/t5/Intel-Quartus-Prime-Software/Bug-Import-of-QDB-file-partition-fails-in-Quartus-Pro-versions/m-p/1554546#M80987

Regarding the disable of DNI, you are not encouraged to disable it. We want customers to run in DNI mode as much as possible. As mentioned in above issue. Yes this is a bug in DNI and I have provided some workaround and meantime waiting for patch release for affected version. Yes there is plan submitted for permanent fix in 24.1 as for now. I will put this to close pending as this is clear bug. We can remain communication in another case.
