Power Analyzer for Cyclone 10 GX

Hi,

I work on a project for Cyclone 10 GX. I would like to estimate current consumption per voltage based on the actual VHDL code and later based on actual simulation results. Power Analyzer inside Quartus does not seem to support Cyclone 10 GX. What tool should I use?

Thanks.

  • OK, you're talking about the PTA for early power estimates, not the Power Analyzer within Quartus (used to be referred to as "Powerplay") that provides a final power analysis of your design after compilation which supports all devices supported by that edition of Quartus.  Neither the PTA nor the older PTC support Cyclone 10 GX.

For early power estimates for Cyclone 10 GX, you have to use the appropriate early power estimator (EPE) spreadsheet:

What makes you think it's not supported?

because I get this error message when I attempt to start the Power Analyzer and Cyclone 10 GX is not on the list.

Just to add: For initial estimates, use the EPE spreadsheet for Cyclone 10 GX, and once your design is compiled in Quartus, you can use the Power Analyzer for more accurate, design-specific results.
