Perpetual license Quartus II doesn't allow to build Cyclone V devices anymore.
We have been using Quartus II for certain smaller designs on Cyclone V for nearly 15 years now, but now, after re-generating the license again I can now still run Quartus II, but it gives me the error : Error (119013): Current license file does not support the 5CGTFD9E5F31C7 device. I can also still build all my Arria10 designs using Quartus Prime (for which we have separate licenses), so it's not an issue with the license server or license daemon. Can someone help me with this ?
Questa Not Accepting My License
Two weeks ago, I got a fixed license for the 90-day trial of Quartus Prime and Questa. I setup the license for Quartus and got it working fine. But every time I tried to boot up Questa, I would receive this error message. So, I configured that same license file as a system variable SALT_LICENSE_SERVER. I've been trying to figure this out for hours. It seems like it expects a floating license, but I have a fixed license. I don't know why it's like this.Repeat of a Questa License Issue
Questa licenses generated since approximately January 29 (the last date I was able to help a student configure a properly generated license) have contained the following message in place of what I presume is the normal license key: ################################################################################ # FEATURE START # This is license file for Questasim*-Intel FPGA Starter Edition # Number of seat licenses is 1 # License Expires 02-Feb-2027 300 Your license version is outside the range of the contract. # FEATURE END ################################################################################ # End of Intel Corporation Software and/or Intellectual Property License File. Issued 02/02/2026 This appears to be the same thing that happened in December 2025, and may be a sign that the licensing site is down or suffering some issue. Hello, I’m experiencing issues signing in to my Intel account to access my licenses. The login process requires the Microsoft Authentication App, but when I open the app, it displays “Action Required” and does not allow me to proceed. On the Intel website, the only available sign-in options are: Entering a code generated by the Microsoft Authenticator app Approving the sign-in request through the Microsoft Authenticator app Both options rely on the app, which is currently not working for me. As a result, I cannot sign in to my account. Could you please advise on how to resolve this issue or provide an alternative way to access my account? Thank you for your assistance.

Hi support Last semester my students stuggled with the configuration of IP (ADC) the support engineers advise my students to use the 23.xx One student got working however the question is do we need to requestt another license for Questa starter FPGA Alteral edition 64 2025.3 or will the current license we have work with this veriosn of 23.xx and alod will the lastest QL 25.11 xx work with configuirn the ADC and other IP core that this version requitred to use eralier version? License server down?
Hi Since 2 days we have issues in compiling with Quartus Prime Pro 24.3 or 24.3.1 and nothing has changed in our source code. Quartus crashes or refuse to compile, Platform Designer is stucked on its splashscreen, .... Sometimes project does not compile and I get the errors: Error: UNAVAILABLE: io exception Error: Connection reset Error: UNAVAILABLE: io exception Error: Connection refused: getsockopt: localhost/[0:0:0:0:0:0:0:1]:53473 Did you heard something concerning these issues (license server from Altera is perhaps down ? ...)
Unable to Access Quartus Prime Licenses
We have atleast two Quartus Prime licenses that we have not been able to access for a while and due to an email domain change we were unable to login via SSO. After contacting Intel Support we finally managed to login to the portal but now see that no licenses are available to us and no way of seeing previous statuses. Intel Support told us to use this forum as they are unable to assist.
