NIOS II dubug error
Hi all:
When I click on "run as NIOS II hardware", the process stops and the consloe window appears the information as follows: You have more than one JTAG cable available so you must use the --cable option to choose between them (or open the "Run/Run" or "Run/Debug" dialog and go to the "Target Connection" tab).No --cable option was provided (or you selected Automatic). Is there anyone who know it and could help me? Thank you very much! William8 Replies

Well ... do you in fact have two Altera Blaster cables? If so, then you probably ought to follow the instructions given and edit the Debug or Run configuration so as to add the --cable options to the launch.
If you don't have two Blaster cables connected, I would suspect some other USB peripheral that also uses the FTDI USB chipset is present on the system and messing things up. Jake - Altera_Forum

Thank you so much! You are right. I have two Altera Blaster cables actually! I changed the settings last time, but I don't know where I had changed the settings now.So do you know where I could change the cable setting?

There are a couple of ways to do this. You can select [Hardware Setup...] from the Quartus II Programmer. Once in the Hardware Setup dialog, highlight the cable to remove and click [Remove Hardware].
-or- From the Nios II SDK Shell, you can run: jtagconfig This will show what cables are available. You may want to remove the 2nd cable with this command: jtagconfig --remove 2 -edj - Altera_Forum

I am sorry! I have never encountered this problem. The problem maybe the download configuration. Good luck!
