Max 10 Boundary Scan Discussion
Has any method or JTAG command that can set CONF_DONE, nStatus and nConfig PIN to observe only during clamp status for DA device?
I want BSC of nConfig, nStatus and CONF_DONE do not impact internal logic during CPLD configuration.

Hi Aaron,
Thank you for your question.
For a MAX 10 DA device, there is no supported JTAG command or method to change the CONF_DONE, nSTATUS, and nCONFIG boundary-scan behavior to observe-only while CLAMP is active. CLAMP uses the boundary-scan register values; it does not change the control/observe capability of individual pins.
The observe-only behavior described in AN 963 is implemented only for MAX 10 DD devices using internal-JTAG hitless update. SAMPLE can capture the pin states before CLAMP, but it does not provide continuous observation while CLAMP remains active.
If continuous monitoring during CLAMP is required, please use external monitoring or consider a MAX 10 DD device. Please also check the exact device BSDL file for the available boundary-scan cells.
