Any suggestion to replace FPGA flex 6000?

Hello

I would like to replace my old fpga EPF6016TI144-3. I'd refined my research and choose the cyclone IV (EP4CE6E22I7N). The problems here, the datasheet do not provide the number of gates for EP4CE6E22I7N. Is thats means there is no gates or what? Or maybe all of u here can suggest to me a better FPGA by respecting the old specifications.

Thanks and Regards

Pretty much any of the Altera FPGAs will work in place of this part. These parts had about 1300 macrocells, each with a four-input lookup table and a single register. I would guess that a MAX V 5M1270ZT144C5N might be a good choice, but there are many other parts that will work.

The potential gotcha is that the EPF6016 was a 5V I/O part, and all the current generation devices have 3.3V or lower I/O voltages. Although many (but not all) 5.0V logic systems can accept 3.3V levels, the current generation PLDs can not accept 5.0V directly. You may need to include level translation logic.

Gates are pretty meaningless now, like chipslinger says, all the LUTs have four inputs so each LUT can hold between one and several "gates". But a cyclone IV will have way more logic than a flex 6k, embedded multipliers and tons of ram.

For a straight replacement, a max V might be more appropriate.
