13 years agoPretty much any of the Altera FPGAs will work in place of this part. These parts had about 1300 macrocells, each with a four-input lookup table and a single register. I would guess that a MAX V 5M1270ZT144C5N might be a good choice, but there are many other parts that will work.
The potential gotcha is that the EPF6016 was a 5V I/O part, and all the current generation devices have 3.3V or lower I/O voltages. Although many (but not all) 5.0V logic systems can accept 3.3V levels, the current generation PLDs can not accept 5.0V directly. You may need to include level translation logic.
