Stratix V Advanced Systems Development Kit SW4 Default Settings
The documentation for the stratix v advanced systems development kit (https://www.altera.com/products/boards_and_kits/dev-kits/altera/kit-stratix-v-advanced.html) seems to be incorrect in regards to the default settings for SW4. What is the correct default settings for that switch? Here is what the documentation illustrates: https://alteraforum.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=13748&stc=1 I want to set up this board so that it loads the designs stored in flash. According to the documentation, it states that SW4.6 needs to be in the ON position, but switch 6 is for Clock Selection... PN AGIPCIE60000018 Please clarify regarding AGIB27R29B1E2VR2 device in this Dev Kit. I don see this device revision in any of DK-DEV-AGI027 version Only DK-DEV-AGI027RES is equipped with AGIB027R29A1E2VR0 device which is older ES0. But AGIB27R29B1E2VR2 is ES2 device. I also cannot find 29B package code in current product selection table. but its available in some datasheets (external memory interface guide, Quartus Prime guide, material declaration) What Quartus version supports AGIB27R29B1E2VR2 device ? Where can I download board files bundle for Rev A board (ES) ? It was available before but now its removed. Best regards, Sam3KViews2likes20CommentsHow can I use a USB keyboard with the DE1-SoC?
PS2 keyboards are becoming rarer and rarer, being replaced with USB keyboards. If I want to interface with my DE1-SoC, how can I do it without buying a PS2 keyboard that is quickly becoming obsolete? I tried using the HPS USB OTG ports, but I have no idea how they work or how to connect them to the fpga fabric, I am still pretty new to this.1.8KViews1like0CommentsHow to get a 644 MHz clock on the Arria 10 SoC Dev Kit?
Hello, I’m trying to get the Ethernet 1G/10G MAC example design to run on the Arria 10 SoC dev kit. The document here (https://www.intel.com/content/dam/altera-www/global/en_US/pdfs/literature/ug/ug-20016.pdf, page 33, Figure 20) indicates that an external clock of 644.53125 MHz for “pll_ref_clk_10g” is among the required clocks. However, I’ve had trouble finding a suitable clock. First of all, I can only connect the “pll_ref_clk_10g” signal to one of the clock pins in the columns 28/29 (as shown in Quartus’s Pin Planner) that are labeled as “dedicated transceiver”. Among them, I found only 2 pairs of LVDS clock pins that are configurable with the ClockController.exe tool (that comes with the Arria 10 SX SoC Package Installer): • PIN_AG29/28 • PIN_G29/28 These pins come from U50, which in the schematic is shown to be Si5338B-CUSTOM. Unfortunately, according to the datasheet of the Si5338 device (https://www.silabs.com/documents/public/data-sheets/Si5338.pdf, page 37), an Si5338B can output only a maximum frequency of 350 MHz. I also wrote some test code that uses the clocks to blink an LED. Whenever I used ClockController.exe to set the frequency higher than 350 MHz, the LED would stop blinking. Then I looked at the clocks from U26, as shown in the Figure 5-3 of the Arria 10 SoC Dev Kit User Guide. I found 2 pairs of clock signals from U26 that are readily connected to the FPGA: PIN_L29/28 and PIN_AR29/28. However, one pair seems to have a frequency of ~400 MHz and the other one seems to have a frequency that is even much lower. Any advice? We have a new D5005 PAC that we want to add to an existing server (S2600WF). The server had a PAC with Arria 10 GX and it booted and worked fine. But when we add the D5005 card, it doesn't even boot and the beeps indicate a power fault based on this link. The power supply is 1300W, so I doubt that that's the issue. I followed the instructions in the quick start guide page, i.e., enabling SR-IOV and Virtualization Technology in BIOS, and using a 12 V auxiliary power cable to power the card. I tried various PCIe slots on the motherboard, and removed the PAC with Arria 10 GX, but in all cases got the same beeps (1-5-4-2). What am I missing here? Any help would be appreciated.1.1KViews1like5CommentsArria 10 SX Dev Brd. How to program LMK04828? UG says "TI GUI" but no additional info
Arria 10 SX Dev Brd. How to program LMK04828? UG says "TI GUI" but no additional info. It seems like the board is designed so that LMK clock chip is programmed via J47 microUSB using some TI GUI tool. However, I'm not able to connect when I tried TI's TICS Pro or Code Loader. Any idea how the LMK chip can be programmed on this board? Thanks.1.7KViews1like1Comment
