Agilex™ 7 FPGA I-Series Development Kit: Rev A /w AGIB27R29B1E2VR2
PN AGIPCIE60000018
Please clarify regarding AGIB27R29B1E2VR2 device in this Dev Kit.
I don see this device revision in any of DK-DEV-AGI027 version
Only DK-DEV-AGI027RES is equipped with AGIB027R29A1E2VR0 device which is older ES0.
But AGIB27R29B1E2VR2 is ES2 device.
I also cannot find 29B package code in current product selection table. but its available in some datasheets (external memory interface guide, Quartus Prime guide, material declaration)
What Quartus version supports AGIB27R29B1E2VR2 device ?
Where can I download board files bundle for Rev A board (ES) ?
It was available before but now its removed.
Best regards,
Sam

Hi Aqid,
Ash_R_Intel seems to have access to the files in question. Please see thread below:
The file that I think the three of us on this thread might be looking for may start like this:
agilex_agib027r29b1e2vr2_fpgaIt's probably a rev A judging by the serial numbers start with a 6.

Hi Aqid,
I mentioned the other thread so that you can contact your colleague (user name Ash_R_Intel) to find where the files may be. Of course it's not going to be on that thread. Please figure out who at Intel/Altera handled that request and get the file from the same source internally.
The device that's available in Quartus 25.1.1, as you mentioned, is not the right one. The development board is using AGIB027R29B1E2VR2 rather than AGIB027R29B1E2V or AGIB027R29B1E2VC. I tried using AGIB027R29B1E2V with 25.1.1 and the programming gets stuck.

Hi Bob,
I checked the development kit website and noticed there are a link download for DK-DEV-AGI027-RA/RA-B package. Can you confirm is this what you are looking for?
What do you mean by "It was available before but now its removed"?

Hi Aqid,
Thanks for the reply.
I have been using that development package. The issue is that the particular chip revision that is on my board does not seem to be supported by any of the software versions that I've tried so far - so I can't program the device.
Can you find out which version of software contains support for this silicon revision: AGIB027R29B1E2VR2
I am not the original poster that made the claim about previous availability. I can't comment on the meaning of that statement.
Here is a picture of my chip:
Thanks,
Bob

Looks like that makes 3 of us that got the same batch of boards. I would also like a download link to the board bundle as well.

Hi Bob,
I can find the device in Quartus Prime Pro version 25.1.1. You may check in that software version.
Hi @j_falchion,
I checked that specific forum and found that there is no agilex_agib027r29b1e2vr2_fpga file shared.
It only has the schematic and bts file.

Hi,
Yes, I have checked internally with Ash_R_Intel, and that is why I said there is no such file you requested. She shared only the BTS file and the schematic for that customer through email.
Since the part number indicates an engineering sample, I bet this would be from an old version. However, I tried to check one by one, but did not find which software version supports this specific part number. I suspect this is for the internal software version only. May I know how you get the board with this specific part number?

Hi Aqid,
The older BTS zip files might contain the project template with the right settings to be populated in the .qsf file. Maybe the chips were stamped with inconsistent OPNs or worked under some obscure project configuration.
I saw in the Internet Archive (aka archive.org) that the 2022 product page contained BTS packages for DK-DEV_AGI027RES and DK-DEV_AGI027R1BES that look like boards that are no longer sold. Perhaps we have one of those. Maybe getting those files in the screen shot below will help us.
I did managed to get further using 25.1.1 by replicating the Power Management and VID settings from an old document in the .qsf file.
But now I'm getting the following:
Error(18948): Error message received from device: Internal error. (Subcode 0x001A, Info 0x00000000, Location 0x00004400)
Error(18948): Error message received from device: Detected an error during configuration.
Which tells me I'm likely missing some setting. - bobmcvay

Hi Aqid,
I purchased my board on Ebay. I have been using Xilinx for many years (most recently the Kintex Ultrascale+) but I was interested in testing with the Agilex 7 parts, hoping they would be a good path for us going forward. I thought I would get some experience with the development environment before I pulled the trigger on some new boards. I understood that these were engineering sample parts and I realized that there were some features that were unsupported, but I did expect to be able to program the board and make the LEDs blink.
Any help you can provide would be appreciated. I would be amenable to a trade-in program, for instance, if that's easier than providing support for these ES parts.
Thanks again,
Bob
