USB blaster not detected in Quartus 24.1

Hi,

Recently updated from windows 10 to windows 11. Previously was using Quartus 19.1 and after upgrade USB blaster driver got corrupted. Below are the steps I did to debug the issue:

  1. Update driver via enforce driver disable in windows.
  2. Load usb blaster driver of quartus 24.1
  3. Uninstall quartus 19.1 and USB blaster drivers. Installed Quartus 24.1 and USB blaster driver that came with it.

Even after step 3, same issue. How can I solve it? Even though Quartus 24.1 USB blaster is supported in windows 11.

Device Manager Error reporting when USB blaster is connected. Signal Tap doesn't recognize any hardware connected.

    Hi,

    OP is asking about USB Blaster rather than USB Blaster II. Driver and installation procedure are quite different for both products.

    There may be a problem if you still have an old, not Windows 11 compatible FTDI driver stack on your computer. Did you try to remove USB Blaster completely in Device Manager, enabling delete driver software option?

    Are you installing plain "USB Blaster" or are you installing "USB Blaster II"?  You don't mention what device or board you're using, but you should be installing the USB Blaster II driver.

      Both version of USB blaster via the following ways :
      1. Go to quartus/drivers folder and click DPInst.exe to update driver. It reports : driver install failed.
      2. go to device manager -> altera usb blaster -> update driver -> selected both usb blaster one time and another usb-blaster-ii folder. It reports that most upto date drivers are already installed.

      I'm using a Arria 10 device.

      USB blaster device :

      I even tried to uninstall the driver and plug in the usb blaster device. I was expecting device manager to recognize it as unknown device. From there I install the driver by pointing to the USB blaster ii folder. But device manager doesn't recognize it at all.
