USB-Blaster driver in Quartus 23.1 is not signed for Windows 11

Hi,

Bought a Terasic DE0-Nano board. I am on a Windows 11 laptop. Have installed the Quartus Prime Lite 23.1 software. Windows 11 finds the USB-Blaster when I plug it in but Windows 11 do not like the driver because it is not signed.

Intel claims Quartus 23.1 is Windows 11 compatible so this means I have probably done something wrong. There are google hits on disabling the Windows 11 requirement for signed drivers but should that really be necessary when Intel claims Windows 11 compatibility.

Terasic says this is an Intel problem. I do not know who's problem it is but Terasic says the USB-Baster driver is done by Intel. So, that's why I try this.

So, is it my fault, Terasics fault or Intels lie (claming Win 11 compatibilty). I am open for almost any solution but I do think that if I clamed Windows 11 compatibility, then I should be compatible with Windows 11.

  • Problem solved. I just needed to update/reinstall the driver.

The drivers that come with Quartus 23.1 installed OK for me on Win 11. When you go looking for drivers on the internet, the links I found pointed to outdated drivers that resulted in errors and unsigned certificates. When I updated the drivers for Altera USB-Blaster in the Device Manager (under USB Controllers), I navigated to the ones in the IntelFPGA directory. These are the newest ones that do not appear to be available searching on the internet.
