I tried it with Vivado 2023.1.

It compiled without a hitch, and even passed the implementation (P&R) phase. Attached is a picture showing the result. There are a bunch of warnings, which are valid, as the test code has lots of unconnected signals and there is no constraints file associated with it. However, there is not a single warning, let alone error, regarding the inherited type or any compile or elaboration time problems.
