Quartus Web Edition MSVCR100.dll missing

Subject says it all. Well most. This is on a brand new Windows 7 Ultimate, Service Pack 1, installed this morning in a VM, with a downloaded copy of Altera Quartus 14.1.0. I run the installer and everything is fine. I ask to put a desktop icon on and there it is. I double-click it and...

"The program can't start because MSVCR100.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." -- with an OK button.

The DLL is in the bin32 but not the bin64, and making a copy there makes the situation worse. No amount of reinstall (even asking for the paid version) makes any difference other than burning about 20 minutes of time.

You need to install visual c++ redistributable 2010 and/or 2012. Make sure you have the 64bit version installed as well as the 32bit version.

I am having the same problem (using Win 8.1). I visited this site for what was recommended (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30679), and tried to install all 3 files. First 2 succeeded, but the 3rd on says it is not for my version of Windows and fails; I can not find anything on the internet about a different version. After this, launching Q Web gives the same error (even tried rebooting PC).

So I am stuck not being able to run the Quartus Web

Thanks for your reply (I did not select the 3rd one when I tried this again.) So after trying the one for 2013, it still h as the same problem. Then I tried the 2010 one, an d it did nto fix the problem.

Any other ideas? Did I need to uninstall the 2013 before trting the 2010 one? Do I need to reinstall Quartus after do this?

On that link you don't want the third one, it is for ARM PCs!

For Windows 8, I think you need the 2013 one:

If that doesn't work, try the 2010 one:

OK - using the 2010 version (and a PC reboot) now enables Qurtus to run on my Win 8.1 without this error.

    Thanks

In my case I have Windows 7 Ultimate running on a VM in an iMac. I had installed the latest 2013 32 and 64 bit, but for some reason that did not help. I removed them with the control panel / uninstall program, then I went back and did both the 32-bit and 64-bit for 2010. Comes right up now. So just FYI you may have to fiddle with things to get the right combination. Incidentally, if I run version 13 in a VM with an old copy of XP it is faster than version 14 in a VM running 7. So if you're in the same boat that I am you could just do with version 13.
