A5EG013BB18A OPN is visible in Quartus but not listed in Program File Generator
Hi everyone,
I am currently working on programming an SCM FPGA board using Intel Quartus 25.1 .
Our target FPGA OPN is A5EG013BB18A.
I need to generate a .jic file from a .sof file by using the Program File Generator. However, when I try to select the FPGA Device in the Program File Generator, we cannot find A5EG013BB18A in the device list.
The strange thing is that A5EG013BB18A can be seen in other places within Quartus, but it is not shown only in the Program File Generator device selection list.
I have attached screenshots and related files showing:
1. The device can be seen in Quartus
2. The Program File Generator FPGA Device selection list
3. The content of .ini file and the .qsf file
Could anyone help confirm the following?
- Is A5EG013BB18A supported in the Program File Generator?
2. Is there any specific .ini file setting or placement required for the Program File Generator to show this OPN?
3. Is a specific Quartus version or device package required?
4. Is there any known limitation where an OPN is visible in Quartus but not available in the Program File Generator?
Any advice or reference would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Hi,
This issue is somehow related to this thread:
https://community.altera.com/discussions/fpga-device/can-not-program-agilex-5-device/350661
Can I confirm that you able to generate the programming file using that OPN in Quartus 25.1?

Hi Fakhrul,
The problem is Programming File Generator can't find the OPN: A5EG013BB18A in Quartus 25.1.
I have installed the Quartus 26.1, and also can't find OPN:A5EG013BB18A.
Have any workaround for SOF to JIC file generation for OPN: A5EG013BB18A?
Thanks,
Jay

Hi Fakhrul,
Thank you for your reply.
As shown in the screenshot in my post, I’m able to compile the design and generate the .sof file for this OPN in Quartus 25.1. I can also successfully download the .sof file to the device.
However, the issue occurs when I try to generate the .jic file, as described in the post.
Best Regards,
Caleb

Hi Fakhrul,
Thank you for your reply.
Yes, I was able to compile the design and generate the .sof programming file using that OPN in Quartus 25.1. I can also successfully download the .sof file to the device.
However, the issue occurs when I try to generate the .jic file, as shown in the screenshot/message in my previous post.
Do you have any further suggestions or recommended steps for this issue?
Regards,
Caleb

Hi C_HWANG,
We were on public holiday from 27 May to 2 June, which caused the delay in response. Let me further check this internally and get back to you.
