Quartus 9.x or other for the MAX EPM9560

We are supporting an old system which uses the EPM9560a.

Background:
We have the .pof file
It is a large system, the function of the CPLD PCB is not defined sufficiently for redesign using a newer device.
We are aware the support for the 9000 series ended several years ago.

A multi person and day exhaustive web search for a legacy copy of Quartus ended with me finding Ransomware. (I lost many files and a day rebuilding the PC, I didn't pay the ransom)

Questions:

1- Is it possible to add the EPM9560a to a current version on Quartus (we have the qdz file).

2- Does someone have a old box set or files for Quartus that supports the EPM9560a. We can buy or rent.

3- As a last resort is there a standalone programmer that supports USB Blaster and the EPM9560a. We prefer a full IDE.

    1) If you have the .qdz file, and did not rename it, it should have the version number of Quartus it belongs to.
    To my knowledge you cannot move .qdz files between versions of Quartus.

    2) Someone else will have to answer that ...

    3) Have you tried using the Quartus 13.0sp1 standalone programmer with a USB Blaster to see if it supports your device?

    1) As answered above, I don't recommend using .qdz for different Quartus versions.

    2) Let me check on what we can do for you.

    3) Does above suggestion help?

      We have tried several Quartus releases just for programming back to 13.2. We always get the message saying the epm9560a isn't supported. It is interesting seeing "epm9560a" and other information displayed. The device is being read, prior to being rejected.

        PS We tried 13.2, but not 13.0sp1.
        I will look into that while staying away from questionable sites.

    I've checked the download center, it doesn't seem like MAX 9000 EPM9560 is supported on 13.0sp1 based on the device support installers: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/software-kit/711919/intel-quartus-ii-subscription-edition-design-software-version-13-0sp1-for-linux.html


    Were you previously using Quartus II 9.0 to compile MAX 9000 design?

    I can request the internal team to provide access to the installers for you.

      A.) No, we were given the hardware design and a .pof file.

      Q.) I need some details from you though, I'm dropping you an email.

      A.) Thank for the e-mail. We have supplied the requested details.

      We found and download Quartus II web Version 9.0.

      Quartus does not show the 9000 family or the EPM9560a but the associated Programmer does. Unfortunately when I attach the .pof file I get the "not supported" error messages. See the attached screen shots.

      I do not think it is web vs subscription issue since the 9000 family is completely missing. I believe some of the smaller MAX 9000 were included with the web edition.

    Hello,
    I have various old Quartus versions installed, e.g. 4.2, 6.0, 7.2. None of them is supporting MAX9000. As far as I see, MAX 9000 has never been supported by Quartus, only in MaxPlus2. Available options for installing MaxPlus2 have been recently discussed in the forum.

    Programming operation with existing .pof may be a different thing, but I have no MAX 9000 programming file and can't check. In any case, programming can be also performed with third party tools.
