Quartus 19.3 New Device Installer

This is a continuation of an older question located here:

https://community.intel.com/t5/Intel-Quartus-Prime-Software/Not-seeing-Installed-Devices/m-p/267139

Making a new question as per @sstrell suggestion.

Background :

My group at work is standardized to Quartus 19.3 pro. Most people have licenses, however some new people do not, and we are working on getting them licenses. In the meantime, we were hoping that they would be able to begin a project using an Arria 10 GX devkit, with the understanding that they may not be able to compile until the license comes in.

Initial Problem :

I went through the process of downloading the Arria 10 qdz file. "arria10-19.3.0.222.qdz". Quartus has a tool dropdown to install new devices which tells you that you cannot run it from the drop down. So I found in the directory and ran it manually. I point it to the qdz and restart Quartus. I try again to start a project with an Arria 10 but it does not show up so I turn to the internet and find the post above. The solution suggested to uninstall and reinstall the software.

Continued Problem :

pic_1 shows the newly downloaded software with the "New Project Wizard" and the Arria 10 devices not being available.

pic_2 shows the "New Device Installer" having Arria 10 devices already installed.

Question :

What must be done to finally get these devices into Quartus 19.3 Pro?

  • I fixed it today. The problem was indeed that we needed an active license to start a project with an Arria 10. Thank you for the many hours of wasted time.

  • Hi,

Could you un-install the whole quartus and re-install again?

    Thanks,

  • Hi,

Could you try to re-download and reinstall? I'm afraid that there might be some corruptions happen.

Also make sure temporarily turn off the suspicious software such as anti-malware, anti-virus, vpn during installation.

    Thanks,

    Regards,

    Sheng

It is not a corrupt download. I have attached the SHA1 checksum which matches the one you provide when downloading the .tar

    Please suggest a new procedure.
