Installing Quartus 13.0 in Ubuntu 12.04 64 bit

Hi,

We are having trouble installing Quartus 13.0 in Ubuntu 12.04 64 bit. Here is the procedure that we followed:

1. Download Quartus 13.0 subscription edition from Altera's website

2. Navigated to install folder and executed ./setup.sh

The GUI doesnt show up at all. We also tried executing setup.sh as root. Doesn't help.

Is there any workaround for this issue ? Looks like this is a 64-bit specifici issue. We are able to install Quartus 13.0 in Ubuntu 12.04 32 bit without any issues.

    Solved. Looks like the setup exectable was a 32 bit binary. We installed required libraries as listed in Quartus manual plus the ia32 libs listed in the following link:

    you need to install bunch of libraries

    $ sudo apt-get update

    $ sudo apt-get install yum

    $ sudo apt-get install sed wget cvs subversion git-core coreutils unzip texi2html texinfo libsdl1.2-dev docbook-utils gawk python-pysqlite2 diffstat help2man make gcc build-essential g++ desktop-file-utils chrpath libgl1-mesa-dev libglu1-mesa-dev mercurial autoconf automake groff libtool xterm

    I have been having problems running Quartus 13.0 on Ubuntu 12.10 64 bit. I tried a variet of fixes, but went back to Quartus 12.1 SP1 and that is working consistently. It seems that Quartus 13.0 has new features which are significant delta from 12.X.

    I have Quartus 13.0 running on Ubuntu 13.04 with no issue, only problem is with the DS-5

    I've got Quartus II running but ModelSim looks ugly, very ugly, unbearably ugly... does someone know what can I do? The fonts looks too bad.

    I've had success now running Quartus 12.1 in Ubuntu 13 without any issue, and without changing any configuration settings. I haven't upgraded to Quartus 13.0 yet on this configuration, but also suspect that it will work fine. It seems Ubuntu 13 is less of an issue with drivers, etc.

    Upon attempt to get Quartus 13.0 to work, it doesn't seem to want to install correctly in Ubuntu 13.04.

    I'm able to synthetise my project, but to connect to my board. I'm having problems. doing the necessary udev changes and starting jtagd as root, I'm able to find my altera board using jtagconfig. But as soon as I try to download my bitstream to my altera, It looses the connection and aborts the process. After that if I run again ./jtagconfig I cannot see the board anymore. However, if i plug-out the board and plug-in again, running jtagconfig gives me the right output. If I try one more time to download the bitstream, the same problem happens again.. anyone with the same problem?
