DSE II doesn't work but there are no error

I am using Ubuntu22.04LTS with QuartusPrime22.1std2 Build 922 SC Lite installed. Quartus and Questa work without any major problems, but DSE II does not work.

There is no error, but the progress remains 0% and it takes time, and neither Status nor Result is displayed. I heard that this behavior can occur when the path is long, so I tried working under /home/hara/test/Quartus, but there was no change.

I tried copying the same project to Windows10, installing QuartusPrime22.1Lite on Windows10, and trying DSE II. It worked properly.

Do I need to configure something or install additional packages in Ubuntu?

I don't know what to do because there are no errors.

Best regards,

Do you need any further assistance for the design upgrade to 23.1 Lite?

Let me double confirm with our development team about the OS support and get back to you.

can you install Q23.1 in the ubuntu? This will help us understand if the problem still exist in there.

  • I understands that the DSE is not working and stuck at 0% using Quartus 22.1 Lite Edition in Ubuntu 22.04 LTS.

How about Quartus 23.1 Lite Edition? Do you have the chance to test whether the DSE works in ubuntu 22.04 using Quartus 23.1 Lite Edition?

    Regards,

  • I able to set up the Ubuntu 22.04 LTS OS and tested both 22.1.2 and 23.1 Lite Edition.

It seems that 22.1.2 Lite Edition DSE has an issue where the 0% is shown but the DSE is running behind. I can see the dse folder is created with compilation results though. The "Status" and "Result" is likely broken and can not consolidate all the compilation results.

On the other hand, I found that 23.1 Lite Edition is working fine. Could you upgrade the design to 23.1 as the DSE is working in the latest version?

This is because for Lite/Standard Edition, it will be very difficult to get resources from engineering to fix it unless there is definitely no workaround available.

Could we get back to resolve the ALTPLL problem that you mentioned previously so the design will works in 23.1?

    Thank you for understanding.

p.s. It is good practice to achieve the project as backup before upgrade any design to the later version.
