DDR high performance controller license issue

With the web edition of Quartus II 9.1sp2, is it possible to generate DDR controllers for SOPC projects? Please see below warning in SOF generation.

warning: can't generate programming files for project because design file "p:/x/auk_ddr_hp_controller.vhd" is encrypted. it does not have license file support that allows generation of programming files.

Any help would be appreciated.

    The DDR controllers can be used under the opencore plus (http://www.altera.com/literature/an/an320.pdf) evaluation license.

    If you do not have a full license for the DDR controller, you can only generate a SOF file which you must configure the FPGA with via JTAG. As long as you leave the JTAG connected, the memory controller will keep working. If you disconnect it from the computer, it will stop working after a timeout which if I recall correctly is one hour.

    Hi Kevin,

    I checked the Altera document related to OpenCore Plus, verified that the setting "Disable OpenCore Plus Hardware Evaluation" is set to "Off" and I still get the same error message.

    Is there anything else that I need to do to enable OpenCore Plus evaluations?

    I am using the Free Quartus II 9.1SP2 Web Edition.

    I can't think of anything else that needs to be done to enable the use of OpenCore licenses.

    I did confirm I get the same message you reported if I set "Disable OpenCore Plus Hardware Evaluation" is set to "On", but everything works fine when I set the option to "Off".

    Perhaps after verifying the setting is off, you could try deleting the db folder before recompiling again.

    If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7 you may also want to try running Quartus as Administrator (right click on the Quartus icon and choose Run as Administrator.)

    Thanks Kevin, problem solved:

    I was using Stratix II: AUTO as a target device(as I was doing a trial SOPC project), not a specific device. Once I put a non-AUTO target device the problem went away and I was able to generate a SOF file.

    So the OpenCore Plus for the DDR High Performance controller works on Quartus II 9.1SP2 Web-edition running on Windows7 64-bit Utimate.
