SDRAM Controller simulation

I need to use an SDRAM Controller in my design and I don't know how to simulate the design.

At the moment it's not known which SDRAM will be used. So how can I simulate my design with the SDRAM Controller? Should I generate an embedded RAM and connect the SDRAM Controller for simulation?

Even if I know which SDRAM Controller I will talk, how can I simulate the complete design?

Thanks for your help!!!

The SDRAM controller respectively the complete design can be simulated with ModelSim, using a RAM vendor supplied HDL model. Some Altera example designs used also simplifed SRAM models (functional without any timing).

I can't see how a SDRAM cotroller could be simulated with embedded RAM.

There are some good SDRAM simulation models available on the micron website.

Just navigate to the prouct page that you best suits your need and there should be a download link to a Verilog model (VHDL In some case I believe)

    (http://www.micron.com/products/partdetail?part=mt48lc128m4a2p-75) For example

Hope I am not violating forum policy by mentioning a specific semi-conductor company. Is so many apologies, let me know and I will remove this post.
