Great question, Takashi. Here's what I can point you to for the FIT rate data on the 5M570ZT144I5N (MAX V CPLD).
The FIT rate for Altera devices is published in the **Reliability Report (PDF)**. Where can I find the Failure in Time (FIT) rate for Altera devices? The Altera Reliability Monitoring Report is updated annually (at a minimum), with the latest version dated 2026-02-15. Reliability Monitoring Report
MAX V is covered under the **AGRW039** product reliability qualification report group ° C <Tj <140 ° C FIT Rate <200 FITs , so that is the specific report section to look for when reviewing MAX V FIT/MTBF data.
Note that Altera does not list reliability data for all packages of each device family. Where can I get the FIT rate for Altera devices that are not stated in the Altera Reliability Report? If the 5M570Z is not explicitly listed, you should use the next higher density device's FIT rate, since the FIT rate is dependent on the technology process — devices within the same family with the same process technology will have very similar FIT rates and can be used for devices not explicitly listed in the report.
