New ContributorI am using Quartus Prime Version 23.4.0. I attempted to generate a CORDIC ATan2 IP with the following parameters, as shown in screenshot. However, I get the following error message:
Error: CORDIC_0: Failed to generate HDL for current parameters
Super ContributorDon't see problems to generate atan2 IP with given parameters. I presume there will be a more detailed error message.
Super ContributorI tested this using Quartus Prime Pro 25.3.1 on an Agilex® 5 device, running on a Linux system, and did not encounter any issues on my side.
Could you please let me know which device and operating system you are using?
Try to upgrade to Quartus Pro 25.3.1 (this version only support Agilex devices) or the latest version 26.1, and see if the issue persists.

New ContributorHi Richard. Thanks for looking into this issue with me. We are trying to add our own IP into a reference design provided by our vendor. Since our vendor's reference design is locked to Quartus 23.4.0, we are unfortunately stuck with using this version as well. If possible, could you see if you can replicate my error with 23.4.0, targeting Agilex 7 AGMH039R47A1E2V ? Thank you.
Super ContributorThe error can be reproduced in Quartus Prime Pro 23.4. Could you please ask the vendor to provide or upgrade the reference design to a newer Quartus version?
Based on our testing, the issue is resolved in Quartus Prime Pro 24.1.
Unless there is a strong business justification, it is unlikely that a patch will be issued for this issue, as it has already been addressed in later Quartus releases.

If a patch is required, please contact your local authorized distributors and provide the necessary business justification (this is required). Otherwise, please work with the vendor to upgrade the design to a later Quartus version.
