how to download fpga in a JTAG chain using the USB bytebluaster

In my hardware, there is a jtag chain including 3 IC, MPC3813, and 2 EP3C16F256.

The USB byteblaster can detect the Jtag chain, but i can not download fpga code to one of EP3C16F256, it shows the message" Error: Device chain in Chain Description File does not match physical device chain -- expected 1 device(s) but found 3 device(s)."

Could anybody tell me how to solve this issue?

Thanks very much!

First click "Auto Detect" in the programmer's window, then add the wanted files to the device found. Selct which devices you want to program, then click 'Start'.

first run an auto-detect on the chain. next, double click in the file column for the FPGA you would like to program and select your programming file, then click the program checkbox. i would expect the order of the devices after auto-detecting would be the order they appear on the JTAG chain

    Hi, Josyb

Thanks for your reply. I have a question : how to identify the two same FPGA chipset? for example, i want to download code A to FPGA 1, and code B to FPGA 2. But from the jtag chain, i can not make sure which one is FPGA 1 and FPGA2 ?

The first one in the 'auto detected' list is the first one in the electrical chain as well.

    HI!

    josyb

I also interested in this issue. you said " The first one in the 'auto detected' list is the first one in the electrical chain as well." But how I can know which fpga in the board is the first one that you mentioned. At this point I am not very clear.

But how I can know which fpga in the board is the first one

The enumeration should follow the physical JTAG chain order.
