From Dev Kit to Production

Naive as it may sound, having implemented all kinds of cool things on an FPGA using the Altera Kit, I was wondering how does one incorporate the FPGA into one's own board design after that?

Can anyone give me pointers to resources, links, literature that explains how to take the programmed FPGA and incorporate into my own breadboard-based circuit. For eg what are the pin configurations, etc. ?

Any help appreciated and thank you in advance.

I think, you get all necessary information with the Dev Kits to use them as hardware design template, e.g. circuit diagrams, even CAD files for some Altera Kits. What are you missing particularly?

Well let's say I implemented the NiOS core on the FPGA; as long as its in he kit, I can play around with it but if I want to build an embedded system around it, then I need to design a board level circuit around it; that's the kind of thing I'm wondering about; how do I know what info I need to incorporate it into my design. I have the student version of the DE-2 kit and didn't come with any circuit diagrams or CAD files. Where can I download these?

    Thanks for replying!
