EPCS16

Hello everyone! I have EPCS18SI8N chips from 2017, made in Taiwan. Can you tell me if they are OK, usable, and of any value? Thank you.

    Hi,
according to PDN1708, EPCS16SI8N has been last shipped by Altera in 2018. In so far, your parts can be genuine Altera products. But any part, no matter how it looks like, may be counterfeit, buying from an authorized distributor is the only way to be sure about its origin. As often stated in the forum, Altera does not validate the authenticity of parts suplied by third parties.

    Regards
    Frank

Hi. First of all, I wanted to know if they were okay after so many years. I ran all the data through AI and got the answer that they were fine. But I also wanted to get the opinion of people, experts in this field.

    Hi,
I won't expect relevant aging effects of unprogrammed flash, presumed it's stored in dry container or bag. For programmed devices, datasheet guarantees 20 years data retention at elevated temperature (55 deg C).

    Regards
    Frank
