Program Problem with EP3C40F484I7 FPGAs

Hi

Our design includes the following:

FPGA: Two EP3C40F484I7

Config: One Numonix RC28F128P33T85

Scheme: Byte-Wide Multi-Device AP Config

Master MSEL(3:0)= 0101b

Slave MSEL(3:0)= 1110b

Program Problem

1.With Quartus II + USB Blaster we haven't any problem to program.

2.With JTAG Technologies equipment some times we got problems.

If the problem appears then:

a. During the Configuration we see on scope active DCLK and nOE (Flash Synchronous Read?).

b. After the Configuration was completed and at the begining of the Erase, we got - "exit code = 6 ....Unrecognized device ID"

Note

The PFL file used:

- Quartus PFL_EP3C40.sof

- JTAG Technologies PFL_EP3C40.jam

Pls advice,

Thank You,

Chaim

Hi Aiman, 1. Clarification: 1.1 Yes, we have follow the AN425. 1.2 We did generate .jam file from .pof file by Quartus II. 1.3 JTAG Technologies using jam STAPL player (with .jam file). 2. We performed additional tests: 2.1 We run Jam STAPL Player in DOS Command Window, using ByteBlasterMV. The commands were: For configuration: jam.exe -v -aConfigure -p378 config.jam >>stat.txt For programming : jam.exe -v -aProgram -p378 config.jam >>stat.txt 2.2 When the programming was successful we got the following status - see attachment stat -1. When the programming failed we got the following status - see attachment stat -2. Note: The programming never failed in the middle of the process, only at the beginning. 2.3 With Quartus II + ByteBlasterMV we haven't any problem to program. Pls advice, Thank You, Chaim
