Why does the simulation report the error "50001990000: ERROR: data mismatch, expected 62294895 got 0xxxxxxxx"

Description

You may see the error message from Questasim*/Modelsim* if you select QSPI for flash configuration with the number of flash = 4. You will hit an issue where the AVST data can't be transferred from the PFL II IP.  Due to incorrect checking of the option bits read from flash, the PFL II IP will prematurely wait for CONF_DONE before any AVST data has been sent from the IP. 

Resolution

The user is recommended not to use the number of flash = 4 when using QSPI. This problem is fixed beginning with the Quartus® Prime Standard Edition software version 25.1.
