Why does Nios® V debug reset not reset the Nios® V processor system?

Description

Due to a problem in the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 22.1, this problem may be seen when using the Nios® V debug reset interface (dbg_reset) to reset the Nios® V processor system.

This is a known problem where Nios® V debug module issues reset to itself during the reset operation which causes non-deterministic behavior that may lead to reset failure in the Nios® V processor system.

Resolution

This problem is fixed starting with the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 22.2.
