Simulation tool for Arria II GX?

Hi all,

I am kinda new to Altera, FPGAs, Quartus etc... .

Arria II GX is not supported by the Quartus Simulator. Are there any other tools to simulate the Arria II GX in a similar way? And which are recommended?

I have very lowly knowledge about VHDL or Verilog. A Testbench file would might be possible and should, if needed, be done by a EDA tool.

    ModelSim-Altera Starter Edition is a free alternative, but you will need to learn a bit about an HDL to put it all together. what you can do is convert your .vwf into a Verilog or VHDL test bench, and also convert any .bdf files into HDL files, and then you can use ModelSim-ASE. for a beginner using the NativeLink simulation support can be helpful:
