SignalTap hover tooltip differs from waveform value (Quartus 23.1std.1)

Hello,

I am using Quartus Prime Standard Edition 23.1std.1 Build 993 (05/14/2024).

When hovering over a signal without clicking on the waveform, the value shown in the tooltip can be different from the value displayed in the waveform (see attached screenshot).

In normal usage, the waveform value itself appears to be correct.
When signals are grouped, the hover tooltip value can differ from the visible waveform value, which makes interpretation unclear during debugging.

Could you clarify what the hover tooltip value represents, especially for grouped signals?
Is this expected behavior?

Thank you.
Best regards,

Well that's weird!  Where exactly is your cursor?  It's not shown in the screenshot.

  • I have not seen this kind of issue before. Does it occur only with a specific design, or does it happen even with a small test design? Or perhaps specific node?
Have you tried upgrading to Quartus 25.1 Standard to check whether the issue still occurs?
If possible, please also try using a different machine.
I would appreciate it if you could share the .stp file along with the data capture so that I can test it on my side.
