    So (one solution anyway):

    I updated to 25.1 (might not have been necessary)
    I started Quartus as administrator (but this was not enough)
    Finally I moved the project folder outside my OneDrive/System managed folders

Try trashing the db and incremental_db folders and compile again.

Any reason why you must use 10 year old software?

    Didn't work, so I guess i MUST update SW. 

    I'm using an online course, through my employer, that needs some updates. I hope I still can use that example files and setup.
