Questasim license for Linux

Hi I am trying to get Questasim setup on my Linux machine and keep getting the error "Unable to find the license file. Unable to checkout a license. Vsmin is closing"

I am running questa fse v.21.1 and have downloaded the free license from the Intel® FPGA Self-Service Licensing Center

I have tried both a float and fixed type licenses

I renamed to license.dat and added to LM_LICENSE_FILE env

I do have this installed under /opt/intelFPGA/21.1/questa_fse not sure if that is a problem

    I was able to get it running using the fixed license and running with sudo su.
