Questa not opening GUI when following Questa* Intel® FPGA Edition Quick-Start: Intel® Quartus® Prime

I’m working through “Questa* Intel® FPGA Edition Quick-Start: Intel® Quartus® Prime Standard Edition” tutorial, and I get to the run simulation stage per https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/docs/...

    Ok, I have sussed it - license failure. Forcing setting the environment variable for the license file in a batch file immediately before launching Quartus seems to make sure Questa can see it. Pity Quartrus just hides the Questa standard output so you never see the error message

I believe you can invoke the Questa standalone software (not through Quartus) to check for any license checkout error message.
