QuartusII 13.0.0.156 installation fails at the end

Hi there,

I'm having trouble installing Quartus II, after installation is nearly complete ti freeze and show the next error.

and after clicking the only choice I get next error, and then it get closed.

Quartus seems to work but I have no help, no DSP, no devices,(which I can install later) and I don't know if I work in something big there is gone to be problems.

The machine isn't the problem, is new W7,64, 24GB RAM, i7.

I will be very thankfully because I have the arrow SOC-Kit Workshop in two weeks.

    I have 12.1 sp1 Full edition installed. Due to a license issue with ModelSim I went to switch to the free web edition. I get the exact same error when installing 13.0 regardless of the options installed (unchecking quartus help changes the error to modelsim), and sources (ISO, web install, individual file downloads, etc). Furthermore, after install I am unable to add devices. Opening old projects results in a missing device error. The 13.0 install is useless.

    I have since reverted to 12.1 sp1 free web edition and don't have any problems.

    The beta testing team did a bad job. :(

    Laptop: i7-3740QM, 32GB, W7 64.

    I don't think employees of Altera monitor this site. If you have a support request, try contacting them directly.

    Hi there,

    I solved the issue, is not a nice solution but it works.

    kill all possible processes (the ones don't freeze windows) with the task manager.

    disable all windows themes(Aero,....) back to W98 aspect.

    and then install individual components.

    All seems to work
