New ContributorQuartus Lite 23.1 MAX 10 Encryption
Trying to work through configuring our MAX 10 device for encryption. Best I can tell so far I need a license to unlock this feature? I tried navigating through the Altera Self Servicing License Center and was unable to find anything. Can you please inform how I can obtain a license?

Hello,
You need to puchase Quartus Prime Standard Edition license to enable the MAX10 design security feature. Quartus Lite free edition will not have this feature.

PuzzleOk, can you point me to where in the documentation it is described that paid software, such as Quartus Prime, is required in order to utilize security features? I am usually looking for this kind of stuff when selecting chips and I am surprised to hear about this.

There is a similar post from years ago discussing the use of Quartus Lite and encryption with Max 10 devices where the Altera rep who responded pointed to a license to unlock this feature. I had chased this down last week and was unable to find any such option in the self-service licensing center. Not very keen on the pay-to-play model here if something has changed and I really do need to upgrade to the paid version of Quartus to unlock a feature present on the silicon we're paying for.
