quartus II under windows XP Jtag error

Hi all

I am using terasic usb-blaster download cable with quanrtus II 9.1 web edition and windows XP. I can't download code into my chip.

It shows :Error: Can't access JTAG chain

Error: Unexpected error in JTAG server--error code 44

Error: Operation Failed

Should I use the older version?

    Hi,

    I'm running into same trouble.

Same OS, Same error code, with USB-blaster,

but in my case, the target is EPM570.

Could you have resolved it? And please tell me how you did if you can.

Did JTAG Chain debugger recognize your device correctly?

    Thx!

I get error code 35 with EPM570 (Quartus II 9.1 web on XP, USB blaster rev C). I can't find any lookup on what the error code means. Why have unlisted error codes? How is the number assigned?

Anyway, I can read the device ID hundreds of times the same (correctly), but cannot program it. I've tried several power supplies, different programmers, always the same error code.

I previously posted my problem with getting error code 35 from the JTAG server. Just now, I also got error code 44. But just one time out of 100 or so tries. I only want to know what the code is supposed to mean, but I guess it's just a generic red light "something is wrong" on the dashboard.

I couldn't resolve the problem 44, except buying Terasic Blaster.

Many people said it's easy, and cheaper way to get USB-Blaster that to make Fake USB-Blaster with PIC18F2550.

But it has not worked, without few cases.

It's not capable to be use, so I quit to challenge to make it,

    and now bought Terasic Blaster.

If you are using "True" USB-Blaster, you ought to tell vendor so,

and perhaps you should check the cable connection and cable quality.

    Thx!
