Quartus 10.0 won't install on Win7 x64

Question

When trying to install 10.0 Web edition on Windows 7 x64 the installer hangs with the "Please waith while checking Internet connection". Yes, Internet connectivity is working just fine on this machine, in fact I can install it on an VM with Win XP running on the VM and hosted on the same machine that won't install natively. The problem is with installing on Win7 x64. Has anyone else seen this problem? I'm getting nowhere with tech support on this.

I'm not using the web edition but 10.0 on Win7 Ultimate 64 installed and is working just fine for me.  Try disabling _any_ virus checker prior to installing as that has caused issues for some.

I tried disabling AV and it still won't start the download. Note that the problem isn't with installing 10.0 it's actually with the web installer not even downloading the installation files.

Perhaps you can try the command line install using your downloaded installer. The folks at Altera recently publish a guide on that rd07212010_875 (http://www.altera.com/support/kdb/solutions/rd07212010_875.html?gsa_pos=1&amp;wt.oss_r=1&amp;wt.oss=rd07212010_875)

Have you tried the full installer (2.6 GB download)?

Downloading the full package instead of the installer works. Thanks for suggesting this.
