License file generated by SSLC missing host ID
- 3 months ago
Could you try to fill up host and nic id in the license file does it helps?
I tried again, same result.
Here is what I do. I have set up a computer, like so:
The Primary Computer ID matches the NIC ID of the computer I want to use the license on.
I have located the license, and attached the computer above to it:
If I go to the computer/host entry and look at the entitlements tab, I find the license above there, complete with the same activation code. Everything looks alright.
Next, I go to Find and Generate License by Activation Code, enter the activation code from above and click Search, select the license that appears and click Next, then I arrive at this:
Where I, after confirming that the existing computer is the right one, click Generate. Then it says that my license file has been generated and will be emailed to me shortly. Short thereafter I get an email with an attached license file (I'm up to four attempts now), but both the email and license file are blank in the Host Type/Primary Machine ID sections as shown above.
May I know is purchased license?

It's a partner license. Obtained through the ASAP program.

I applied for the license on the ASAP portal. There was no named individual involved in that process. When that did not work out as I expected, I put in a help request at the portal. This lead to the following conversation:
Me: I have requested a parner license for Quartus, and the request has been approved (PLR-0000132). How do I proceed to generate the license?
ASAP: I have noticed that the license has already been generated. And you will receive an email for the same just saying the license has been generated. Now, you need to log in to SSLC and activate the license.
Me: I have not received an email yet at least. But I understand it as I don't need to wait for that, but should be able to "activate" the license now. I logged in to SSLC [proceeds to describe the issue above] What did I do wrong? Is there a description somewhere of this process? It is far from obvious.
ASAP: If you need any support regarding the Licenses, please reach out to Altera Community Forums [...] Altera application engineers monitor the forums and provide assistance. [...]
"ASAP" above is a named individual, but it doesn't feel right to post the name here. The email conversation has been with [email protected] with CC to [email protected]. Clearly the ASAP people are directing me to you, Altera application engineers at the forums.
I will try to contact ASAP again and refer to this conversation.
