How many Serdes channels in the EP2AGX260FF35C4N?

For the Arria II GX device I’ve selected(EP2AGX260FF35C4N) the data sheet and the PinOut file(EP2AGX260.xls) indicates 16 serdes channels but in the Quartus II pin planner I can only assign 12 channels. Why?

Odd, in my version of the tools, I can select al 16.

    11.1 tools.

What version of the tools are you using?

Have you filed an SR with Altera?

I'm using version 11.0. Yes I have a SR filed. I'll try upgrading to 11.1.

probem solved. Updating the Quartus II App to ver11.1 did solve the problem. I now can select all 16 serdes channels in the EPGA2GX260FF35C4.

Ver 11.0 has an incorrect database with regard to this part.

On a previous post, I stated that upgrading to ver11.1 did not solve the problem but I was misled. From ver11.1, I was loading the project that was originally built with the ver11.0 SW and it must have been using the old, ver11.0 device libraries. When I started a new project(using ver11.1)...went through the new project wizard process and selected the EPGA2GX260FF35C4...and, from the Pin Assignment editor, imported the pin assignments(.csv file from the original ver11.0 project)....it all worked out fine.

So there may be a bug where ver11.1 will not use new libs if simply opening a project that was originally built from an older version of Quartus.

I did get a SR response from Altera but it was nothing more than a statment that they were looking into the issue...not very helpful.

    Thanks for the help.
