Having trouble running simulation with opencl SDK

while trying to run simulation with the design example "library example1" after compiling the kernel for simulation with

aoc -v -L device -l opencl_lib.aoclib device/example1.cl -march=simulator with the Intel opencl SDK v19.2

running the simulation with ./bin/host

I got the errors

which looks quite like the socket=-11 error mentioned in the programming guide.

However I've only installed is the modelsim FPGA starter edition,

so I thought it would unlikely be the problem of mixing resources.

Is there anyway to resolve this problem?

        Hi,

I get the same results as you.

I'm working with other engineers to find a solution.

  • Hi,

Due to design size limitations, Modelsim Starter Edition won't work for simulation.

We will update the library section of the OpenCL programming guide to tell users that only Modelsim SE or AE should be used.
