Error: Invalid license environment. Application closing.

I was trying to simulate my program but it gave this error:

Error: ** Fatal: Failed to initialize licensing environment. License environment not set correctly.

Info: Unable to checkout a license. Vsim is closing.

Error: ** Error: Invalid license environment. Application closing.

Error: Compilation was NOT successful. 2 errors, 0 warnings

    Just like it says, you need a license. You don't mention what software this is or any details.

    I am using Intel Quartus Prime Pro. I also have the license in the form of a .dat file. I have given the path in the option of the License Setup in the tools option.

      That’s for Quartus. Assuming this is for Questasim, you have to set up the LMS_LICENSE_FILE environmental variable to point to the file.

        Thank you for your response..yes this is for Questa Sim.

        Now the previous error is not coming...but in the tools menu there is no run simulation option...please help me with it.
