Career in FPGA
Hello Everyone, I have been interested in FPGA and started learning from "intel learning".
I have completed a bachelor's degree in EEE. I was confused as I am in the beginning stage. So please help me by answering the following questions:
1. Should I start my journey in VLSI with Quartus without other software like Cadence or Xilinx?
2. Will FPGA rather than ASIC be a good choice for beginners?
3. Should I focus on projects or research to get a job in VLSI fields?
Hi,
Apologies for internal technical issue/glitches.
Please find inline answers to your queries-
1. Should I start my journey in VLSI with Quartus without other software like Cadence or Xilinx?
Yes, you can use Quartus Tool for your VLSI project with HDL coding in Verilog/VHDL. Quartus tool is from the Intel-Altera and Xilinx is having their own tool.
2. Will FPGA rather than ASIC be a good choice for beginners?
Yes, for beginners start with the FPGA.
3. Should I focus on projects or research to get a job in VLSI fields?
I suggest you to get the certification on VLSI from technical/research institutes. This might help you to get the job.
Regards
