Probelems after installing Quartus/Nios II version

Hello.

I was running Quartus/Nios tools in version 6.1 fine, with licensed nios II.

Had several working projects compiling with no errors under Nios II EDS 6.1.

Today I received new DVDs with version 7 and of course I have installed it.

Now, when I open my project in Quartus 7 SOPC builder is telling me that Nios CPU core is not installed. I am also unable to compile my old project in Nios II EDS 7.

I am sure Nios II is installed because when I try to install it again I get the message about installing "copy 2", so the installation program knows it is installed already.

I tried to update my license file online, since my support expires 2007.03 and was recently renewed but updating license file (I see new dates there) and restarting my windows workstwation did not help.

What could be wrong? I think I will have to uninstall 7 and install back 6 to be able to work again... http://forum.niosforum.com/work2/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mad.gif

    Check your SOPC_BUILDER_PATH environment variable. $SOPC_KIT_NIOS2 and/or <ip_root>/nios2_ip have to be in the path (explicitly), somewhere.

    P.S.: Something has changed, along the way, as it used to be that both the $QUARTUS_ROOTDIR and $SOPC_KIT_NIOS2 were searched for components automatically... i.e.: without being in the SOPC_BUILDER_PATH environment variable.

    OK guys/gals,

    After installing this whole thing again I regained my nios cpu in SOPC builder.

    I must be sleeping that Friday and did not check the IP/Nios Cpu checkbox during install. Cannot think of any other reason it did not install the first time... http://forum.niosforum.com/work2/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif

    But... following successful this time installation I tried to open my older projects which were perfectly fine under version 6.1

    I have got another problem here. Nios II EDS version 7 let me open the old workspace 6.1 was using and asked me if I want to convert the files into new data formats. I agreed to the conversion and expected no problems during compilation.

    I was wrong. Compiler was complaining about some undefined operating system defines/constants - obviously something changed in the Micrium os and it was not converted during move from 6.1 to 7.

    To get it to compile I had to recreate system library the project uses from scratch.

    Of course after it compiled it did not work smoothly - some functions have changed their returned values because my code was checking OS_TIMEOUT result, which is now not returned from the ALT_FLAG_PEND() function.

    Do you guys know any document listing steps one have to go through during the project migration from 6.1 to 7, especially when the project is using uC/OS-II ?
