OT: Replacement LCD screens

The LCD I'm using is a one of 320*240.Yes,it's big enough.

But till now I still can not figure out how to make it work with

Nios.The LCD is bought in ShenZhen ,P.R.China.The appearance

is not bad,but it just cannot display any words.

The "default " LCD from the dev kit of Altera may be small,

but it is simple to use.It seems that there exists

a native words databasein it,right?But the one I'm using

requires extraordinary work to write something on it,

---it's terrible!

That does sound like a really big lcd display. For my usage the generic lcd that came with altera's dev kit will work fine. It just reports some simple messages as feedback from pushing the buttons on the board, nothing fancy. It turns out others on our team assembled the kits form the box and the lcd did not display correctly. So they thought it might have been hooked up incorrectly and then proceeded to reverse the connectors on the board. That provided the final hit to the lcd display and stopped it from working correctly. I was too late to warn them about the compact flash card and lcd issue before this happened though. So anyways, I am still looking for replacement for a few of them.

I'd just email Altera support, and ask them to sell a replacement or to give you ordering info from their supplier. The worst would be if you bought one and it's not exactly the same thing (then the core my not work).

It would most likely be a specialty item if it comes from Altera and would require them to probably send from inventory or manufacturing.

Either way you should get the info you need from them since they'll have detailed information on it. I think I burned one out too and I had it plugged in properly too.

Okay I got a response from Altera. They said to try to order directly from Lumex. I did not get a man part number for it, but I'm sure i can find out on the Lumex website. At least now i know who makes them so it might be easier to find a direct replacement for these.

If you can't find it then just tell them what it's for (they would have some type of agreement with altera so they would have records of what you need).
