NIOS EDS 9.1 does not detect USB connection.

Hi.

I'm trying to download a NIOS program via USB. When I select "Run as -> Nios II Hardware", the Run Configuration dialog box appears. In the Target Connection tab, it seems that NIOS EDS cannot detect the USB wire that is connected to my development board (Altera DE2).

I've been using NIOS EDS version 9.0, and I didn't have this problem. I configured JTAG by following this post:

At the top of the Run Configuration dialog box, this message appears:

exception thrown trying to load plugin providers

can anybody help me???

    I'm not sure what's causing that but you could use nios2-download and nios2-terminal from the command line to download the elf and open a terminal.
