Atmel Serial Flash

Hi Folks,

We are planning to use the serial Flash devices from atmel for loading a cyclone device through a small µC.

This is not so hard to do but, on the cyclone device we are also planning to use µCLinux.

Is there a driver available to put in this serial flash a file system?

    N2X,

    I lobbied for this feature, but it didn't make the cut for current plans.

    A suggestion: check out the "EPCS Virtual Memory Peripheral" at www.fpga.nl. This component claims to present a flat memory space to SOPC Builder. I haven't tried it, but if it works, it might be easy to port the existing CFI flash routines to use serial flash, when accessed through the peripheral.

    If you try it, please let us all know if it worked!
