Honored ContributorVIP as a product is getting tremendous traction with video system designers and they use mostly Quartus/SOPC builder as their design entry tool.
To make sure Altera's video offerings are aligned with our customers preferred design methodologies - all future VIP development will be optimized for Quartus/SOPC Builder. This also includes all the reference designs that are available using VIP cores. VIP is a strategic area of investment for Altera and this year we have added 6 new VIP cores (5 with 8.0 and 1 with 8.1). Also significant enhancements have been made to the existing cores to support both HD quality video designs and run-time control of these designs. Altera DSP Marketing
